Lawrence County Burger Trail

Wendy Royal Spring 2021

The Cliffhanger Burger at Grille On The Hill

Grille On The Hill Cliffhanger Challenge Burger

Whether it’s eat-in or take-out, we can all agree that a fat juicy burger is as Americana as it gets. One might even say that it’s our patriotic duty to make sure that hamburgers are part of our diet. That’s probably stretching it, but I’m confident that the 15 restaurants participating in the Lawrence County Burger Trail would agree.

Besides the fact that the burger trail offers unique takes on the hamburger, participants can explore downtown shops and eateries throughout the county.

If you’re up for the challenge, there are prizes to be had along the trail, but for those true burger aficionados who visit and collect passport stickers from all 15 restaurants, they will earn the official Burger Trail T-shirt.

If this is not a big enough challenge for you, The Grill on the Hill invites you to take The Cliffhanger Challenge. All you have to do is consume a triple cheeseburger stacked with nine pieces of bacon and with a hill of fries on the side, then wash it down with a root beer float. It sounds like a challenge, right? No, the actual challenge is to finish it in ten minutes. Do that, and it’s free!

For those who are not meat eaters, you can grab a tastebud-defying Impossible Burger at Riardo’s Bar & Grille and the flavorful Roasted Red Pepper and Portabella Burger at Crane Room Grille.

I can’t think of a better way to explore Lawrence County than on a road trip to burger heaven.
