Day 1
The Riverside Inn at Cambridge Springs
Originally named the Riverside Inn, it was built in the 1880’s as a spa for those suffering from many types of ailments. The natural springs located on the property was said to be an elixir. By the early 1900’s, at the height of its popularity, eight trains a day brought guests to the “healing waters” of the resort.
Eventually, modern medicine intervened and the mineral springs were no longer seen as having any real medicinal benefits. Though more than 40 hotels sprang up during the heyday of the Cambridge Springs, only the Riverside survived. Today, the Riverside Inn at Cambridge Springs has been restored to its Victorian splendor and welcomes guests year-round. Whether it’s the comfort of the historic inn, the nationally recognized dinner theatre or the award-winning dining experience in the Concord Dining Room, guests keep coming back. And, apparently, some never leave.
Guests and workers of the inn have reported seeing apparitions, hearing children, and even seeing a spirit lying in bed with them. Because of these experiences, the inn invites guests to participate in Rogue Paranormal Spirited Sleepovers. The sleepovers are for adults only and not for the faint of heart. The next one is October 29th. Space is limited so early reservations are encouraged.
For a more light-hearted approach to the season, the Riverside’s Halloween Party in the Grand Ballroom will also be on Saturday,October 29th.
