Philadelphia’s Magic Gardens presents Watkins Street Studio Behind the Scenes Tour

After creating Philadelphia’s Magic Gardens (PMG), artist Isaiah Zagar began work on his next art environment, the Watkins Street Studio in South Philadelphia. The space was recently gifted to the nonprofit by Isaiah and his wife Julia, and is now open for behind-the-scenes guided tour and be among the first to experience this enormous artwork!
Learn about Isaiah Zagar, his influences, and the many collaborations that made the Watkins Street Studio possible. See where tiles were created and materials amassed for Zagar’s mosaics. Discover how the nonprofit PMG hopes to preserve and share this creative landmark with the community for years to come. A knowledgeable PMG educator will lead a 60-minute tour of the studio’s first floor, followed by some time to look more closely and explore on your own. The entire tour takes place indoors.
