South Side Historical Village

The village consists of a restored 1874 Mercer one-room school house, the Porter blacksmith shop, with demonstrations in metal arts, the Johnson 1800’s log cabin showing the rural home life, a large brick bread oven, a pedestrian covered bridge, a General store, the Glenn classic bank barn built in 1858 displays antique agriculture equipment and the Nelson doctor’s office built in the 1800’s. Future projects are a pottery shop and sawmill. This site is geo-cache friendly. The operating village is open on the second Saturday in April-October, 11 A.M.-3 P.M. Tours by appointment. Free admission. Donations appreciated.
