Hookstown, PA 15050-9416

724-899-2200

A centrally located 101-acre lake with an accessible fishing pier allows anglers to seek a number of fish species, including brook and rainbow trout that are stocked and found both in the lake and feeder streams. The lake also has a 500-foot, accessible sand/turf beach that is open daily from late-May to mid-September. It provides opportunities for active recreation as well as passive activities such as photographing and viewing waterfowl and other species of wildlife. Raccoon Lake has two boat launches and 48 mooring spaces (electric motors only). A boat rental is open from the first day of trout season until mid-October and has canoes, rowboats, kayaks, hydro-bikes, in addition to bait and tackle, refreshments and firewood for sale. A food concession is located at the beach area and is open from Memorial Day weekend to Labor Day weekend. Activities at the park include boating, fishing, swimming, picnicking, camping, modern cabin rentals, organized group camping, backpack camping, bicycling, cross country skiing, hiking, bridle trails, winter activities, and hunting. Features include historical Frankfort Mineral Springs, historical Kings Creek Cemetery, Wildflower Reserve with nature center, and 44 miles of trails available throughout the park including a 20-mile backpack loop trail. Modern camping available mid-April through mid-October. Modern cabins and primitive camping available year-round.
