In the 1890s, the Pennsylvania Chautauqua Society founded Mount Gretna, attracted by the region’s natural beauty. The landscape is still fill with natural beauty with wooded mountains, a stream, and a lake. Throughout the Summer, the comes alive with first-rate events in music, theater, and art. As cooler weather sets in, the area displays some of the most stunning foliage of the Northeast. Outdoor enthusiasts love Mount Gretna year-round for the protected game lands that offer mountain biking and hiking and cross-country skiing in the winter months.
