TOUR: FREE. The Historic Fairfield Inn is located on the Confederate Retreat from Gettysburg on July 4, 1863 and served as a Civil War Hospital, Colonial Meeting House, Stagecoach Stop and part of the Underground Railroad. Built in 1757, it is one of only five Inns in America that have been in continuous operation since the 1700’s. THE HISTORY TOUR will transport visitors though time pointing out interesting sites such as President & Mrs. Eisenhower’s favorite dining room, the Squire Miller Tavern which holds the oldest liquor license in the Gettysburg and Adams County area dating to 1786.
