The story follows the journey of Celie, an African American woman in the American South, from the early to mid-20th century. Faced with many struggles and hardships, Celie draws inspiration from the women around her and attempts to retake control of her own life. Featuring a Grammy-winning score of jazz, gospel, ragtime and blues. 7:30pm.
