Poppy & the Magic Tutu

Star of the Day is thrilled to announce Poppy & the Magic Tutu, an original musical written and composed by local playwright Kirsten Almeida. The magical, family-friendly production will run for one weekend from June 5th through June 7th, 2026, at Between the Lines Studio Theatre.

Poppy & the Magic Tutu follows the adventures of circus star Poppy, the ballet dancing hippopotamus, who, with the help of her friends, helps save the circus. Blending catchy, upbeat Broadway-style tunes with themes of imagination, teamwork, and facing your fears, the all-ages musical is designed specifically to captivate both young children and their families.

“We wanted to create a production that speaks directly to the vibrant imaginations of children while also delivering a heartwarming message that resonates with parents,” said Kirsten Almeida, the show’s director. “The music is incredibly catchy, and we cannot wait to share these original songs with the Lehigh Valley community.”

Dates: June 5th at 7pm, June 6th at 12pm, 3pm, 7pm, June 7th at 1pm and 3pm.

Tickets: $10 in advance or $15 at the door (cash only at the door)

Parents are encouraged to arrive early for pre-show, interactive pre-show activities. There will be a post show meet and greet and photo opportunity after each performance.
