Army University (AU) invites the public to join a solemn Memorial Day commemoration ceremony at the U.S. Army Heritage and Education Center (USAHEC) on Monday, May 26, 2025, at 11:30 AM. This event is free and open to the public.
The ceremony will feature a keynote address by Susan Eisenhower, a renowned national security analyst and granddaughter of General of the Army Dwight D. Eisenhower. Ms. Eisenhower brings decades of expertise in strategic leadership to her roles as CEO of The Eisenhower Group, Inc. and Chairman Emeritus of the Eisenhower Institute. A trusted advisor to the U.S. government, she has served on key commissions for the Department of Energy, NASA, and the National Academy of Sciences. Ms. Eisenhower is a frequent lecturer at premier military institutions, including West Point and the Army War College, and is the acclaimed author of “How Ike Led: The Principles Behind Eisenhower’s Biggest Decisions.”
During the event, Ms. Eisenhower will speak on the significance and history of Memorial Day observances. The Carlisle Town Brass Band will also provide musical selections to enhance the educational experience of the ceremony.
Highlights of the ceremony include:
Wreath Laying and Flag Raising: Honoring our Nation’s fallen heroes.
Recognition of Gold Star Family Members: Acknowledging the sacrifices of families who have lost loved ones in service.
21-Gun Salute: Performed by the 1-108th Field Artillery, Pennsylvania Army National Guard.
In case of inclement weather, the ceremony will be moved indoors. Parking is available and free of charge.
