Indiana University of Pennsylvania’s Theatre-by-the-Grove and Music Theater, student performance organizations in the Department of Music, Theatre, and Dance, will present a whimsical production of Little Women, the Broadway Musical.
Based on the novel by Louisa May Alcott, with book by Allan Knee, music by Jason Howland, and lyrics by Mindi Dickstein, this production follows the March sisters as they come to maturity in the wake of the Civil War. Directed by Dr. Carrie J. Cole, with music direction by Dr. Oliver Lo and Sabin Fisher and an orchestra conducted by Dr. Zach Collins, Little Women is bound to delight its audience with its endearing tale of family creativity and ingenuity.
Other members of the creative team include IUP senior Jasper Walters, costume designer; Tobby Tao, faculty lighting designer; and Tucker Topel, guest scenic designer, assisted by senior Lucca Muzy.
Little Women, the Broadway musical was originally produced on Broadway in 2005. Produced nationally and internationally, Little Women has been praised by critics for its ambition in adapting such a well-known story for the stage. This timeless, captivating story is brought to life in this glorious musical filled with personal discovery, heartache, hope and everlasting love. Little Women embodies the complete theatrical experience, guaranteeing a night filled with laughter, tears and a lifting of the spirit.
Advance tickets can be purchased either online or by phone. There are no advance in-person ticket sales before the show. However, any remaining tickets may be purchased in person one hour before the show at the door.
