Jewelry Making: Forged Cuff Class at The Rivet at Discovery Space

Forging is one of the fundamental skills of making jewelry. We will use basic hand tools and heavy-gauge copper wire to fabricate a handsome hand-wrought bracelet, suitable for both men and women. We will begin with pre-cut, annealed 8 gauge copper wire. Students will learn how to best bend heavy-gauge metal; how to forge wire; how to anneal wire using the SilverSmith torch, and how to shape the bracelet using a bracelet mandrel.
