Grace Gardner With Sofía Campoamor & Katherine Paterson

Sofía Campoamor and Katherine Paterson conclude their East Coast tour with a show featuring Grace Gardner at Johnny Brenda’s in Philadelphia. Tickets are $10 online, $15 at the door. 7 PM – Doors / 8 PM – Show. 21 years +. GRACE GARDNER: Raised in the cow-ridden outskirts of a Texas city, Grace Gardner is pushing the boundaries of the singer/songwriter genre. Her writing takes on an evocative nature, poignantly penning about her frustrations in relationships, society, and at herself. While her music adopts many of the genre’s characteristics, she’s found inspiration in her parents’ taste in 70s and 80s rock, in the folk roots of her southern upbringing, and in the jazz she was surrounded by while residing in New Orleans, Louisiana. SOFÍA CAMPOAMOR: Born in Washington, DC, Sofía Campoamor first started writing songs to make school projects more fun. This lighthearted approach to academics took her to Yale University, where she performed a cappella music around the world as the first woman member of the Whiffenpoofs. Now Brooklyn-based, Campoamor blends her love of intricate vocal harmony with dreamy acoustic soundscapes to tell tales of longing and friendship on her debut album, “if you knew, i couldn’t tell.” KATHERINE PATERSON: Katherine Paterson is an indie-folk singer/songwriter based in McKinney, TX. She writes music to keep you company. Paterson first began writing songs as gifts for far-flung companions. This evolved into a practice of using writing as a way to navigate life’s myriad moments–especially the more difficult ones. A homing beacon of sorts, Paterson’s debut album, Wake, invites you to come find her among past selves, loved ones, grief, dreams, and plants. Her intimate storytelling is a direct result of her admiration for the songwriting craft of luminaries like Joni Mitchell and Brandi Carlile. Check out www.katherinepatersonmusic.com for more!
