Leaf Casting Workshop

Tues. at 6:30pm. Dawn Blanton of Highland Acres Hosta & Daylilies Farm, Schuylkill Haven, will be conducting a workshop on creating concrete leaf castings. Dawn will demonstrate how to cast the leaf, and participants will be provided a kit with all the supplies needed to make a casting about the size of your hand as well as another smaller leaf casting. Participants may want to bring a mask as initially there may be some dust given off from the medium used.  After making the leaf cast, participants should take the leaf casting home and let it completely dry (or cure) for 24 hours.  These leaf castings can be used both indoors, as well as outdoors, and can be painted.    Workshop is open to the public, but space is limited.  Call for reservations.  Cost for class is $ 20.00.  A check made payable to SSGC and mailed to Kim Morgan, 1537 Panther Valley Road, Pine Grove, PA 17963 secures your participation in the workshop.
