What is the connection between a historic Mount Gretna, PA, home and a Navajo weaving from 1,100 miles away? Discover the fascinating answer on Wednesday, August 19, from 6:00pm to 7:30pm, at the upcoming presentation by Don “Stone” Kensinger, Navajo Rugs: A Connection to Mount Gretna.
This unique program chronicles a cross-country adventure that began in 2012. Upon moving into their idyllic Mount Gretna cottage, Kensinger and his wife, Vicki, were gifted a mysterious heirloom passed down through generations of the cottage’s owners since the late 1800s. This single item sparked a quest that connected the cottage’s original owner, W. Theodore Wittman, to Mount Gretna and Kensinger’s deep passion for the Diné people and their art.
