This class will be taught during a single three hour session. It will be hosted virtually and students will be expected to connect online using their own computers from home.
In this course, you’ll get to know the basics of computer aided design (CAD) and parametric modeling through the free (for students and hobbyists) software, Autodesk Fusion 360. The course will begin with a broad introduction to CAD and what it can be used for. The majority of the class will be spent teaching students the basics of Fusion 360 by creating a 2-part electrical conduit box, step by step. By the end of the course, students will have an idea of what CAD is and what it is capable of. Students will be able to use Fusion 360 to design components and assemblies, and will know where to find the resources to continue learning new skills in Fusion 360 and beyond.
