Shippensburg Band FREE Fall Concert

Sunday at 2:30pm; The Shippensburg Band is proud to present a free concert, our first since October of 2019, featuring the talents of local musicians of all ages performing timeless music selections.  Admission and parking are free; donations accepted (the Shippensburg Band is a 501(c)3 non-profit organization). Highlights of the concert include a band arrangement of the Flight of the Bumblebee, The Procession of the Nobles, Portrait of the American West, The Hornet’s Nest, The Lightning Brigade, and a variety of marches.  The Shippensburg Town Band, directed by Carl Sponenberg, is a community band that has gathered many individuals from Shippensburg, PA and surrounding area to make music and share it with others. The band is a dynamic group of young and old from all walks of life, some with degrees in music and/or music education, but most participants are amateurs. We rehearse on Tuesday nights between 8:00 PM and 9:30 PM in the Shippensburg Area Senior High School Band Room.  Anyone who plays a band instrument is invited to come to a rehearsal and join the band.
