Preservation Gala & Tour
The Hershey History Center’s Preservation Gala: Back to School will be held at the Hershey History Center. The event is open to members and non-members. The Gala includes the Preservation Tour, revisiting a series of local school sites, and a meet-and-greet with the architect, C. Emlin Urban. Tour times are 2:00pm, 3:30pm, and 5:00pm. The Gala’s theme is inspired by the M.S. Hershey Consolidated School, that was built in 1914. It was an early example of a progressive education approach at the turn of the 20th century. Designed by Mr. Hershey’s architect, C. Emlen Urban, the building remains an architectural vestige of interest in, and investment made to benefit Hershey’s youngest citizens. 110 years later, we are going back to school for one historic night. So, find your most nostalgic spirit wear, class rings, and report cards. High school dance fashion is welcomed, prom dresses included! Guests will enjoy small plates curated “cafeteria style”. Live music by Sounds of School Days. School memories display. Silent and live auctions. Please visit the website for information and ticketing at https://www.hersheyhistory.org
