History on the Street

The Historical Society of Pennsylvania (HSP) commemorates its 200th birthday throughout 2024! Join neighbors and friends on Locust Street and connect with the past, make meaningful discoveries about who we are together, and celebrate HSP’s theme, ‘America’s Promise and Its Many Voices’. Cultural organizations will be onsite, hosting activities, tours, and demonstrations that will share American history in exciting ways. Enjoy music, vendors, food, and a street party vibe. During the outdoor event, guests are also welcome inside to view HSP’s current exhibit, HSP 200 + Taller 50: Uncovering and Preserving Puerto Rican Stories, co-curated with Taller Puertorriqueño and on display from August 29 to October 11, examining the development of the Puerto Rican community in Philadelphia.
