Join students from the Centre County 4H Robotics Club for a public drop-in event at The Rivet at Discovery Space. The goal of this program is to make all kids in 4th-12th grade, but especially girls, more aware of robotics opportunities in our area, showcase the ways that robotics fits into many careers, including machining, wiring, mechanical assemblies, computer design, and coding, and to encourage kids to learn more if they have an interest. Not all schools have access to robotics classes or kits, so this is meant to be a fun event for families from all across PA.
Several stations will be set up including: a driving competition to use robots built by middle school students to move blocks or rings within an arena, a station where robots use sensors to perform tasks, stations showcasing robots from elementary and high school teams, some available for the public to try, as well as, local businesses such as Actuated Medical Inc showcasing their uses and how researchers at Penn State use robotics.
